What is GiG?
God is Good project is a sports ministry that is a Christ-centered platform for athletes to experience the Goodness of God and to exclaim it to others – to SHOUT it from the mountaintops!
1. Know that God loves you.
God’s love is a real kind of love that does something wonderful for us. When God saw man's hopeless, desperate sinful condition, he decided to help man. He lovingly gave His only Son to die for us. Even though Jesus was innocent, He paid the price for our salvation. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

2. Know that all have sinned.
Everyone has committed at least one sin and that makes us all sinners. We all stand guilty before God. Rom 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
3. Repent for your sins.
Jesus often started his sermons with the theme of repentance. It simply means admitting your present course of action is wrong and knowing you need a change in direction.
4. Know that Jesus Christ is the only way.
There are people that teach that there are different ways to God and Heaven. This is not true. Jesus said that He is the only way. John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jesus is the only bridge between God and man.
5. Receive Jesus Christ as your Savior today.
Trusting in Jesus’ sacrifice for you is the only way to find forgiveness from God and to begin a relationship with Him. We urge you to take this step of faith today. To do that, simply talk to God – this is called praying – and tell Him you believe in His Son.
To make this decision now, we suggest praying a prayer like this:
“Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask your forgiveness and now turn from everything which I know is wrong. Thank you for dying on the cross for me to set me free from my sins. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and be with me forever. Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen.”
GiG stands for “god is good”
It has happened to each of us. It may have been while standing at the foot of a mountain, or summiting its peak; possibly while catching your breath after a hard run or pegging your heart rate while cresting a hill on your bike; maybe it was the magnificence of a star filled sky; or the overwhelming joy of experiencing a baby being born.
something inside of us wants to scream “Thank you!”. something in each of us intuitively knows that what we just experienced was not chance, that we could not come up with that on our own.
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created; things on heaven and on earth, visible and invisible ... all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:15-17
The Goodness of our God is experienced by everyone. No one is left out. Everyone is included! But there is so much more.
To experience the fullness of his goodness we must also experience the story of the cross of christ.
There our awe and wonder are magnified, when our eyes are opened to the Truth; there our sin is revealed and God offers His gift of forgiveness to all.
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
God is Good project screams from the mountaintops of His abundant Goodness! GiG project desires for everyone to marvel at His creation and to “thank” Him, the Creator, for the awe and wonder of our experiences. We want everyone to know that Jesus came to complete each of us, to connect the deepest longings of our souls to Truth.
Using the GiG logo and the GiG gear as our visible platform we hope that conversations will be started and relationships will be forged that will make the Goodness of our Creator non ignorable in our sporting circles!
THE GIG VISION
A few years back God gave gave me a vision. In the fall of 2013 that vision became a reality as God is Good project. So what is God is Good project? Let me explain. God is Good project is a platform, a Christ centered platform for athletes, like us, to experience the Goodness of God’s creation and to exclaim it to others, “to SHOUT it from the mountaintops”.
Romans 1:20 – “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” This says that God’s hand in creation reveals Himself. NO one should doubt that God is the Master designer of all that is beautiful in our universe!
Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” God gave us His son Jesus to restore us and make us right with Him.
Matthew 28:19 – “Therefore go and make disciples of all ....” In this verse Jesus says that it is our job to tell others about Him. For us to share to others the Good News of Christ Jesus as Savior. Others can know that God is Good because we will tell them!
The progression therefore is this, plain and simple. God has revealed Himself to us through the magnificence of creation. And it is our job to share the truth of His Son Jesus to others so that they too may know!
I have been riding bikes for 25 years. When I am on a bike I become keenly aware of God’s Goodness. Sometimes it is the beauty of being immersed in God’s creation of the sky and the landscape, and sometimes it is the beauty of the sweat dripping off of my nose! But every time I get on my bike I realize that the beauty is not just chance, but it is a gift from our God designed for each of us to enjoy. Every living being experiences this beauty of creation, it cannot be missed or denied. God reveals himself through His creation 24/7. God is Good project wants to “shout from the mountaintops” that this beauty is only the beginning of His Goodness.
My hope is that the GiG cycling kit is that “SHOUT”. A lot of thought and prayer went into choosing the colors, words, and symbols on the GiG cycling kit. This way each of you can use the kit to share the truth of the Gospel with others.
THE COLORS
White on black symbolizes God’s light shining in the darkness. It also symbolizes that the light of the Gospel always dispels the darkness of this present age. We as believers were called out of darkness into His wonderful light and can share this light of Truth with others.
THE CROSS
Symbolizes the gift of God’s Son so that we may receive eternal glory.
THE WORDS
Leg bands are from Mark 12:30. Here Jesus gives us the greatest commandment.
THE RIGHT ARM WHITE BAND
Symbolizes that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God interceding for us.
Isaiah 55 x 11 We are to exclaim God’s Goodness. The Truth of the Cross will always accomplish His purposes.
LIVE LIKE GIG
Means just what it says: God is Good. Live Like God is Good!

GiG cycling is a community of Christ followers who want others to know the Truth of God’s Goodness. Our prayer is that God will expand this ministry! This is an all inclusive project. Not exclusive.
